Clive Christian took the helm of one of the oldest British perfume houses, Crown Perfumery in 1999. Queen Victoria herself granted him the right to use the crown as a symbol of the highest quality and British excellence of its products 135 years ago.

Clive Christian revives the house's original principles by producing pure fragrances, consisting of the most precious natural ingredients from the four corners of the British Empire, with complex formulations.

This vision led to the creation of the definitive collection of Clive Christian perfumes - 1872, X and No1, - which was to be recognized in the Guinness Book of Records as the most expensive perfume in the world. The earliest Clive Christian edition was created in 1872 and the newest is from 2020.

Clive Christian fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Beverley Bayne, Mike Parrot, Christian Provenzano, Angela Stavrevska, Julie Pluchet, Celia Orozco Cirimbilli, Geza Schoen and Tim Gage.
